WORLD PREMIERE. Written by David Cerda & Directed by Spenser Davis.
Streamed Online, June - August 2020 @ Hell in a Handbag Productions, Chicago
“Leave it to Hell in a Handbag to find the campy side of quarantine. Davis’s direction just lets each of the actors metaphorically go to town, even as they’re in lockdown...”
When Blanche finds out she may have been exposed to Legionnaires disease, the Girls are quarantined in their home for thirty days. Will they make it out before they kill each other? The fourth installment in Hell in a Handbag’s wildly successful Golden Girls camp-drag parody series, THE GOLDEN GIRLS: THE LOST EPISODES VOLUME 4 - LOCKDOWN! was one of the very first plays in the country written for the virtual medium.
“Even more impressive than the verbal slapstick... is the noteworthy progress made since the advent of “pandemic” theater [which helps in] creating the illusion of ensemble dynamics.”
“They keep the drag-tastic zingers flying... Gather your quarantine bubble together, pour some stiff drinks and take a virtual trip to Miami.”
“I imagine directing a number of actors who are in different locations is quite a task, but I’m impressed by the way [director Spenser] Davis pulls it off... this first of its kind.”
