PRODUCED BY theatre of note, LOS ANGELES.

Two amateur conflict journalists who were kidnapped for ransom during an ill-advised trip to an active war zone are released after years of captivity. They struggle to adjust to “normal life” while navigating their complex feelings for each other, the enormous debts they owe their loved ones, and the weird ramifications of what happens after you fuck around and find out. Written by Ashley Rose Wellman, whose 2023 play Kill Shelter swept the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards among others, this propulsive looks at an intensely emotional and physically taxing experience and says, “What happens if that first day back home is the real start to our story?”

“Will grab you and hold you captive from its startling opening scene to its deeply moving finish... as compellingly as [the play] reads on paper, it’s even more riveting as directed by Chicago-to-L.A. transplant Spenser Davis.”
